Toyota Prius (Gen 3) 2010-2015 New OEM Hybrid Battery Cost

The high-voltage (HV) battery pack in the third-generation Prius is composed of 28 modules, each containing 7.2-volt nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) battery cells. When connected in series, these modules provide a total nominal voltage of 201.6 volts for the entire battery pack. This HV battery is responsible for storing electrical energy that powers the electric motor, allowing the vehicle to drive under electric power alone under certain conditions, and assists the gasoline engine during acceleration, which helps to improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions.

Toyota Prius Gen 3, 2010-2015, features a hybrid powertrain that combines a 1.8-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with an electric motor. The gasoline engine, also known as the internal combustion engine (ICE), produces 98 horsepower and works in conjunction with the electric motor, which contributes an additional 36 horsepower (27 kW), resulting in a combined system output of 134 horsepower.
